Late Birthday Thanks

A few days late, but nonetheless a great birthday this year! I turned the big 24 this past Tuesday, 1/27. Not only was it my birthday, but Josh, Nicole, Susan, Jeff, and Brenda flew in for a NYP conference. It was great to be able to spend my birthday with family and friends! (Thanks Joosbro for the picture above) Chase took us to dinner at Patsy's in Midtown which was delicious! Thanks all for a great birthday this year!

Happy 9 Years!

Even though we are married now and don't celebrate our old anniversary, today would be 9 years since we started dating! In lieu of such a great day, I thought I would upload one of our oldest pictures taken together. It was one of the oldest I had on my computer at least. Here's to good times!

Snowy Weekend in NYC

I think Chase and I brought back the snow with from our ski trip Saturday because it has done nothing but snow since then. Finally today we made it up to our "secret spot" in the park that we have been wanting to go wtih the right amount of snow. Of course like everywhere else in New York, nothing is so called "secret" to anyone. There were lots of people out there sledding and even snow boarding. Here are some pictures we caught in the park.

Okay, I never said he was big by any means. I am not exactly what we call experienced with the snow yet.

Last but not least, I caught this video of Chase sledding down the hill. There was this nice man and his son that let us borrow one of his sleds since we couldn't find a sled anywhere. Boy did he make Chase's day. Nothing like seeing your husband all smiles acting like he is 10 years old again.

Miracle on the Hudson

In case you live under a rock and did not know, there was a miracle crash landing in the Hudson River last Thursday, 1/15/09. After the American Airlines plane went down, they pulled it over to the west side of the city where they then pulled it out of the water. This morning we decided to take a walk over there to see the miracle plane for ourselves since it was less than a mile from our apartment. Not to forget also that Chase was on that same exact flight when he flew home for Christmas...very well could have been the same exact plane. Anywho, these are some pictures we took. It was amazing to see how the plane was still very much intact.

Hunter Mountain Ski Trip

What do bruises, achy knees, and -7 degree temperature have in common? That would be our Saturday adventure to upstate New York to go skiing at Hunter Mountain. Minus the freezing cold and frost bite warning, we had a great time! Although I did not advance yet to a black slope, I did master the blues and greens. Well, the easy blues at least. Regardless, it was a nice break and we got to see lots of snow! Us southerners do still freak out at the sight of snow.

Brooklyn Field Trip

With no big plans this weekend, Chase and I decided to get out and explore some new parts of Brooklyn. Other than our occasional visits to Target at Atlantic Avenue, we really haven't visited the area much since we moved. So today we ventured out to Brooklyn Heights to enjoy the fun snowy weather. After taking a stroll down Montague Street (per recommendation from Kathren, thanks!) we walked along the water towards the Brooklyn Bridge for some lunch. We've been dying to try the famous Grimaldi's Pizza there. So off we headed to bear the weather and stand in line. The wait wasn't too bad and the food was AMAZING! We will definitely make more trips out there, perhaps when it warms up a little more.

I took this picture right outside the restaurant. It was a beautiful shot of the bridge and cool to see a bunch of antique cars lined up. Now we are enjoying some good football and waiting on the rest of the snow to come...
