Husband & Wife! Wedding season is upon us. In the past 3 weeks, I've had the pleasure to witness wedding vows for 3 different couples: Ashley & Tripp, Sarah & Will, and now Dad & Ellen. 3 down...many more go!

While I was away this weekend doing wedding madness, Chase and his Dad enjoyed a weekend in the city. They saw a show, went to the Natural History Museum, and went to the US Open on Sunday to follow Tiger around for a few hours. I can only hear the stories from the Open since they don't allow phones or cameras on the course.

It was a fantastic wedding / Father's day weekend! Congrats to all the newlyweds!!

Mississippi Weekend in the City

With the husband away, it's time for the girls to play! No really, Chase is in Las Vegas this week for work/play, so I've been enjoying the city Mississippi style this weekend. First off was a Southern Miss Alumni party at the 21 Club Friday night. It was a good chance to meet some fellow Southern Miss alumni that live in the city and I finally got a chance to meet the new President. From that party, I went to meet up with some of my coworkers for a night on the Lower East Side. Drinks, Tacos, Limo, Huka, and Dancing are just a few words to sum up our evening.

Saturday was the 30th Annual Mississippi Picnic in the Park where people from all over the state gather for a day in Central Park. It's a great opportunity for us up here to get our fix of fried catfish, hushpuppies, and some McAlisters Sweet Tea! Last year the weather was about 98 degrees and sunny....this year was about 70 and pouring down rain. Despite the weather, we still managed to have a great time. I even got to see Jasmine Murray perform. For all you Non-Idol watchers, Jasmine was a top13 finalist on American Idol this season and she just happens to be from Starkville, MS! Whoop!


After the picnic, Elizabeth and I stopped by a store where I modeled some bridesmaids dresses for her wedding coming up in October. Finally, we ended up at her place where we ate great food and watched 2 Jennifer Aniston movies back to back. Now, if that's not a girls night then I don't know what is.

Tonight is THE night. Southern Miss plays the Texas Longhorns in the first game of the College World Series. This is the first time in USM history that we've made it to the CWS and we are excited!! Southern Miss to the Top! So of course, we will get together again tonight to cheer on our Golden Eagles!!

Weekend Update

This weekend Chase and I went out to Coney Island to go to the New York Aquarium, something that has been on our to-do list for quite sometime. We saw sharks, eels, sea lions, and more. About 2 hours and 2,000 screaming kids later, we decided it was our time to head out. Overall though, a beautiful day spent out by the boardwalk.

Sunday I spent the day in "The Burbs" (aka Summit, NJ) having fun at a co-worker's baby shower, while Chase hit the golf course. It was a lovely day and I was excited for a change in scenery.

Lastly, Chase and I met back at the apt and watched Southern Miss beat Florida in baseball to head to the College World Series for the first time ever!! Woo! Go Eagles! Southern Miss to the Top!

Now we're back settled in for another work week to come. Oh, and I just saw Lisa Kudrow next to my apartment. Gotta love NY!

One down....3 more to go! Wedding season was officially kicked off this weekend as Ashley and Tripp said their "I Do's". It was a beautiful wedding weekend. Next up - Sarah and Will on June 20th!
