The Most Perfect Weekend

Where do I begin...We have definitely had one of the best long weekends ever. We headed out Wednesday after work to meet up with Chase's side of the family down in San Destin, Florida. The weather could not have been more beautiful. Sunny skies, mid 70's every day and the water was even bearable to get in up to your waist! After 2 days of fun on the beach (and enough sunburn to last us a while) we headed back to Jackson.

On the way we stopped by Hattiesburg and had lunch with the Halls and some friends at Seasons. Then we went by Lee and Brittany's new house they are about to move into. It was the perfect house and we look forward to coming to visit often.

Once back in Jackson, it was time to spend some time with the Hailey side of the family. Dad, Ellen, Sarah, Josh, Nicole, Gaga, Chase and I all met at Dad's house to enjoy 35 wonderful pounds of crawfish (aka "Crawdiddies"). They were wonderful and really hit the spot since we can't get food like that up in New York. I put everyone to shame by starting first and finishing last. Go me. After that, I got the privilege of cutting Josh's disgusting hair (yes Josh you heard me... it was disgusting) and then we got in the hot tub to try and soothe our aching sunburns.

Sunday, Chase and I ran some errands and then met up with Dad, Josh, and Nicole at Margaritas where I was able to enjoy me some queso dip!! It was the perfect ending to a fabulous weekend. Then we were off to the airport for a fun night of flight delays. Chase was lucky enough to have a connecting flight through Atlanta which he made on time. Me...not to lucky. I got stuck in Detroit and then had to catch a flight out this morning at 6am to get to work. After getting up at 4am, I'm a little exhausted so bed is not too far off for me.

*Fun fact - Chase, Josh, and I have all gotten stuck overnight in the Detroit airport in the past 6 months. Moral of the story? Don't fly through Detroit if at all possible!!

Too Little time...

We have had one jam packed weekend. In summary....Friday = work, dinner with Adrienne, and then going out with Adrienne and some of her law school friends. Saturday = lunch with Adrienne and her friend Alysha, shopping in Soho, eating/shopping at Chelsea Market, dinner at John's Pizza with Maggie and her students. Sunday = watching Maggie's daughter, Mary Peyton, and taking her around the city a little bit. Our day included FAO Swartz, Disney Store, Central Park, H&M, Grand Central, and then last but not least a trip out to the Statue of Liberty. While we get settled in and try to recover from our weekend's festivities, we look forward to next weekend which will be spent on a lovely Florida beach!

Golf Outing

Since the weather was so beautiful this weekend, we felt we needed to take advantage of it and spend as much time outside as possible. Thus our trip to Chelsea Piers to hit some golf balls. Chase had been before, but it was my first time. There is just something unusual about hitting from a tee that is on the second floor of a building overlooking the Hudson. It's not real golf, but it was the closest we could find on this lovely Sunday afternoon.

Hoboken St. Patty's Day Parade

Yesterday we enjoyed going over to Hoboken for their annual St. Patty's day parade. Sad fact: I think that was our first St. Patty's day parade to ever attend... nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed the parade, music, entertainment, etc. It was such beautiful weather! It's hard to believe it snowed 10 inches on Monday and was 65 degrees on Saturday. We won't complain, we'll just enjoy the weather while we have it.
